About
The teaching staff at the department of Data Science and Biostatistics has an enthusiastic core team of lecturers and several researchers who are equally passionate about education.
Our teaching
The department provides data science and biostatistics education within undergraduate and graduate programs of the faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Social Sciences, and teach extracurricular courses to researchers. Subjects range from basic statistical knowledge to more specialized methods.
In our education we employ a mix of lectures, knowledge clips, and (computer) labs. Courses are offered face-to-face, fully online or blended. In all our teaching, we align as much as possible with current educational insights on academic data science and biostatistics education.
Our goals
We aim to train our students to critically examine the statistical methods and interpretation of the corresponding results in the biomedical literature. In more advanced courses, students are taught to carefully apply the correct methods to their own research.
